Employment and Training Programs
MRC North delivers employment and skills development support to assist our clients in securing sustainable employment outcomes. Our core employment and training programs include: Migrant Small Business Support and Referrals, and Job Coaching.
MRC North delivers one-on-one and group mentoring and coaching to humanitarian entrant and refugee participants to gain successful employment.
MRC North has assisted to secure employment and work placement opportunities in areas such as horticulture, viticulture, food processing, childcare, bicultural support work, interpreting, and other service industries. Many clients have also participated in accredited training to further their skills in these areas.
Migrant Small Business Support and Referrals
The Migrant Small Business Program, funded through Skills Tasmania, provides intensive support training and mentoring to our clients during the initial stages of establishing a business and developing a business plan.
MRC North has assisted clients who are now self-employed, working as contractors or selling food at markets and festivals.
MRC North is delighted to partner with the Inveresk Tavern to host The Community Kitchen, supporting our clients interested in developing their catering and restaurant business skills with direct experience and training.
