Cultural Awareness Training

In addition to helping migrants settle in Northern Tasmania, MRC offers workshops to educate communities on cultural awareness.

MRC offers workshops to raise awareness of the diverse communities in Tasmania. This training is a fee-based service.

Workshops are 3 hours, and available across Tasmania (travel and accommodation may be additional costs).

Our cultural awareness workshops

MRC delivers professional development Cultural Awareness Training (CAT) to organisations, businesses and community groups.  This training supports greater cultural awareness and understanding, and subsequently improves the experience of migrants in our community.

Details Australia’s Humanitarian Program and the bureaucratic and procedural challenges people face to gain eligibility.

How to Work With People

Provides information on working with people who arrive under Australia’s Humanitarian Program from a human rights perspective.

Working with Interpreters

Assists in accessing the Translation and Interpreting Service (TIS National) and demonstrates how to work with interpreters.

The CAT Program can be tailored to fulfil the objectives and interests of the participating organisation. Fees vary dependent on your organisation’s needs.
