NDIS stands for the National Disability Insurance Scheme. The NDIS takes a lifetime approach, investing in people with disability early to improve their outcomes later in life.
It moves away from previous systems, which provided funding to agencies and community organisations, and provides direct funding for individuals.
The NDIS provides funding for individuals living with significant disabilities to access the supports and services they need to live and enjoy their life. MRC can help NDIS participants to allocate their funds, or we can provide specific supports and services as part of an NDIS plan.
Individual NDIS participants determine their own goals they want to achieve with their personal NDIS funding, with the assistance of an NDIS Coordinator if needed. These goals could include finding a job and going to work, making friends and having an active social life, or participating in local community events.
